I have always had a passion for working with dogs and this is reflected in my voluntary work as well as caring for friends pets. Over 20 years experience of fostering dogs, with my first foster being a lurcher in Glasgow for the Greyhound Awareness League. The aim was to get him socialised to living in a flat in the city as he had been a working dog. He was great to work with and a quick learner and he was soon ready to be adopted. Since then, I have volunteered as a fosterer for the Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary for different greyhounds, and for All Dogs Rescue Scotland with a gorgeous Romanian rescue. All my fostered dogs have been successfully placed in forever homes after the healing, training, love and care they received from me. My friends' dogs adore their Auntie Fiona and whether that is for a pop-in during working hours, weekend adventures or for 3-week holidays, they are well loved and entertained. These breeds range from a Hungarian Vizsla, Patterdale, Beagle to a Yorkshire Terrier and others. Having previously worked mainly with medium to large dogs, the Yorkie converted me to small dogs and I delight in her huge Soul and enthusiasm for adventure! As you will know, dogs are very intuitive and they react well to my energy and enjoy their healing time with me.
